Galveston beach patrol reports twin brothers lost in water near Pleasure Pier

According to the Galveston Island Beach Patrol, 13-year-old twin brothers went missing in the water near Pleasure Pier on Sunday evening.

Texas’s GALVESTON —  According to authorities, two teenage brothers went missing on Sunday near Galveston’s Pleasure Pier.

The youngsters are both 13, according to Galveston Island Beach Police officers. They said that after going missing at 4:30 p.m., they were not found for nearly an hour, during which time their family members called the police around 5:30 p.m.

The boys’ parents said that they had been submerged in water up to their chests on the west side of the pier when they were last seen.

The teens were last spotted in the water close to 25th Street and Seawall Boulevard. According to officials, nobody saw them submerge.

Helicopters are being used by the US Coast Guard to support search workers. The search efforts are also being assisted by a number of other law enforcement organizations.

 

Monday at 5 a.m., the boys were still missing.
